Finally, the Los Angeles Clippers took care of business the way they’re supposed to…

Playing an inferior opponent, on the second of back to back nights, the Clippers stepped on the gas pedal and never slowed down, beating the Sacramento Kings handily, 116-81. The game was a blowout almost from the opening tip, with the Clippers providing several highlight reel dunks and fast breaks, literally running the over matched Kings off the court.

They outscored the Kings in every quarter, including the 4th, despite playing the bench heavy minutes and resting the starters almost the entire quarter. In fact, with a little less than four minutes to go, the lead had ballooned up to 35 points.

An astounding seven Clippers players scored in double digits, with no starter logging over 28 minutes (Blake Griffin). Chris Paul played only 21 minutes and scored 14 points, while Jamal Crawford led the team with 17 points on 7 for 14 shooting. DeAndre Jordan added 13 points (6 for 12), with 6 rebounds. Blake Griffin, who was very active defensively, scored 14 points and collected 9 rebounds. Chauncey Billups, in his second game back, had 6 points in 18 minutes of play.

The following statistics point to the Clippers’ best overall effort of the year:

Field Goal %: 54

Free Throw %: 62

3-Point FG %: 50

Assists: 26

Steals: 12

Turnovers: 5

Fouls Against: 13

Marcus Thornton led the Kings with 20 points, going 6 for 9 on 3-pointers, while Jason Thompson and Isaiah Thomas added 16 and 14, respectively. DeMarcus Cousins had a quiet 8 points and thankfully, there was no signs of bad blood between he and Griffin left from last season.

The win upped the Clippers record to 10-6 and the team will travel to play Utah on Monday.
