The Clippers  lead their division rival Los Angeles Lakers (and Staples Center co-tenants) by 15 games in the standings and just clinched the season series for the first time in 20 years (a 125-101 destruction on Thursday night), but the team’s all-world point guard isn’t ready to declare the city’s title of top dog – yet.

“We have definitely not taken over the (Los Angeles) Lakers’ popularity in L.A. And I don’t see that happening anytime soon,” point guard Chris Paul said Friday in Houston. “It is what it is. At the end of the day it’s all about winning ballgames. And that’s what we’re trying to do,” Paul said in an interview from Houston, where he’ll be starting for the Western Conference All-star team on Sunday.

In a separate interview with Chris Broussard during a break at the All-Star Celebrity Challenge game, Paul said there should be no changes made to the team and that there were no trades on the table. This counteracts the rumors swirling of a Kevin Garnett for (insert Clippers player names here) to Clippers trade.
