Analysis of season thus far (13-6)
The Clippers have changed from the perennial laughing stock of the NBA into a title-contending team in just under 20 games. This is a squad that could only manage a 32-50 season last year and is, so far, pacing a season of 44 wins this year with 16 fewer games played. The Chris Paul trade certainly was thought to bring this team back to life, but few believed that it would help the Clips become a Western Conference powerhouse overnight. They have beaten the Heat, Thunder, Mavericks, and Lakers en route to this fantastic start, and all signs are pointing up that their winning ways will continue.
Analysis of season to come
Having already won against the aforementioned elite squads, the Clippers will get little rest against a dominating Western Conference. They go on a 6-game road stand in early February, facing off against tough teams like the Magic, 76ers, and Mavericks. In mid-March they play 3 more in a row on the road against the Pacers, Thunder, and Hornets. The Pacers and Thunder are having great years, and the Hornets game will be Chris Paul’s return to New Orleans. These 3 games could potentially be the difference between a 2 or 3 seed in the West versus a 4 or 5 seed. If the Clippers can get through these two difficult stretches with limited losses then they will be the very rightful owners of a top 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Key Players
It’s obvious that this team relies on the performances of Blake Griffin and Chris Paul night in and night out. They both must keep up their pacing of about 20-10 each night (the 10 being rebounds for Griffin and assists for Paul) in order for the Clips to make some more noise this season. From there the Clippers have a solid backcourt manned by Paul, Chauncey Billups, Mo Williams, and Randy Foye, all helping to make the Clippers the 5th highest scoring team in the land this year.
Key Statistics
Scoring isn’t a problem for the Clips; height is going to be the downfall of this team if they let it happen. The Clippers are currently 26th in the league in rebounds, a statistic that will absolutely matter as the season progresses and the playoffs begin. Currently, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan make up half of their rebounds every game. Relying on two players, however good they are, to do the whole of your big-man work is not only a flawed concept but one that has already proved to be fatal in games against the Lakers, Bulls, and Spurs. If the Clippers are smart they will use their wealth of talent in the backcourt and trade for help in the frontcourt, perhaps adding a player like Z. Pachulia from the Hawks for Foye.
Season Prediction
The Clippers have not achieved so much simply by the presence of Chris Paul on their roster. He has certainly impacted the team for the better, but he is not the sole reason that the Clippers are performing so well this year. The combo of him and Griffin, the emergence of Jordan as an effective big man, and the stellar play of Williams and Billups have all helped make the Clips a force to be reckoned with. The most credit should go to Vinny Del Negro though, as he has taken this team from a group of talented players and turned them into what a team truly embodies. Watching them play on the court you can see this with effective communication and great ball movement. Off the court the team stays together too, routinely going out to eat together and becoming that much closer. These things, however small, are what make a team dangerous come May.
Final standings prediction: 41-25, 3rd in the Western Conference

It is official. The Los Angeles Clippers are elite after a win against the Utah Jazz. It was the Clippers first win in Salt Lake City since 2003. For the fans that do not remember those were the Elton Brand days. It was a great game between these two teams. The first half of the game was high scoring and exciting. The Clips found themselves down by 10 points but they battled back to make it only a 2 point deficit at half time. Both teams came out flat and sloppy in the third quarter. There was many missed shot along with turnovers to spare, but the game was still close leading into the final quarter. The fourth was intense; the Clippers badly wanted the end the losing streak in Salt Lake City while the Jazz wanted history to remain the same. Once again PG Chris Paul came through in the clutch. Two tough opponents, two great wins. The Los Angeles Clippers are showing how dangerous of a team they can be. On Sunday the Clippers had a difficult road test against the feisty Denver Nuggets and left the mountain high city with a “W.” The following day the Clippers went up against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have the best record in the NBA leading up to game time. The Clippers came locked and loaded as they displayed great three point shooting to send the Thunder home with a loss. The Clippers are looking fantastic and the scary thing is that they are only going to get better. Game after game the Clips are improving. As I mentioned in my lost blog the injury to PG Chris Paul slowed down the process. Now that he is back healthy the team is right back on track to make a deep playoff run. The win versus the Thunder is a possible Western Conference Finals preview. I’m just saying, by season’s end I believe the Thunder and Clippers will be the top two teams in the Western Conference. Here is a review of the two Clippers victories. Continue reading this post »

According to CheapClippersTickets.com prices for
Clippers Tickets are still way less then Lakers Tickets. I looked at Clippers Vs Thunder as well as Lakers Vs Thunder both at theLos AngelesStaplesCenter.
Clippers Vs Thunder
Sec 307 Row 8 $32.00 per ticket
Sec 107 Row 11 $143.00 per ticket
Sec 101 Row A $804.00 per ticket
Lakers Vs Thunder
Sec 307 Row 6 $95.00 per ticket
Sec 107 Row 4 $355.00 per ticket
Sec 101 Row B $2380.00 per ticket
Yes the Lakers are the pride ofLos Angelesand the Clippers the ugly step child. Yes the Lakers have 17 Championships and the Clippers have 0.
Is seeing an aging Lakers Team really worth that much more a ticket? To me Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are way more exciting to see then Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. Now if the Lakers signed Howard…well different story maybe.
I have been a Clippers fan for many years but to me dollar for dollar, opponent for opposite and team for team AT THIS MOMENT to me the Clippers are a much better value for your money.
What do you think?

On Sunday the Los Angeles Clippers looked to keep the momentum going after a strong home performance against the Grizzlies. They would have a tough one heading out thePepsiCenteras they took on the Denver Nuggets and their six game win streak.
Denver native Chauncey Billups received a thunderous ovation during team introductions. “That was beautiful, man, that was beautiful.” a gracious Billups said after the game. That was the loudest cheering any player received that night until Denver fans realized their beloved Tim Tebow was there sitting courtside. This would be Billups first trip back to Denver since the blockbuster trade that involved Carmelo Anthony which ultimately sent Billups to the Clippers.
As much as Billups appreciated all the love he received, he also gave them one more reason to miss him as a Nuggets team that pretty much controlled the game for three and a half solid quarters saw their hometown boy catch fire during the final stretch. Billups putting up a season high 32 points and nailing 6 3point shots allowed the Clippers to close the gap and take the lead with minutes to go. Billups would then seal the game drawing and offensive foul with less than 20 seconds remaining sending his hometown crowd home disappointed and snapping the Nuggets six game win streak.
The Los Angeles clippers find themselves on top of the Pacific Division at 11-6 just as Kevin Durant and the red hot Oklahoma City Thunder head down to theStaplesCenter in a Monday night show down. The Clippers will have a chance to snap two winning streaks in two nights the Thunder head toLos Angeles with a solid 4 game streak of their own. The Thunder who can’t seem to do any wrong at the moment preset one of the biggest challenges the Clippers have seen all season. After hoping to prove themselves last week against the Lakers and coming up short, this matchup presents a perfect opportunity for the Clippers to show world they are for real.

Hello, Lob City fans. My name is David Estrada and I am a new blogger for the Los Angeles Clippers. We are 16 games into the Clippers season and we have much to catch up to. Many basketball insiders were predicting the Clips to be a top four team in the Western Conference, but it has not panned out that way thus far in this early lock out season. Many are still saying the Los Angeles Lakers are still the better team in their respective town. I think that will change by the end of the season. The Clips have talent and are lead by their superstars PG Chris Paul and PF Blake Griffin. Chris was the biggest free agent acquisition of the off season and Blake keeps getting better and better, which is scary. If it was not for the injury Chris Paul suffered I believe the Clips would be 10-4, but they currently 10-6. Chris was truly getting into a rhythm with the offense before his hamstring became an issue; once his hamstring is fully healed the Clips will be unstoppable. Let’s not forget basketball is a team sport, Chris and Blake cannot win every game by themselves. Here are the rest of the Clippers starters that will be instrumental to the Clippers success.
