With the State Farm commercials not as rampant in the offseason, Blake Griffin was given the opportunity during tonight’s ESPY Awards to remind the world how funny a guy he is.
Paired with Grammy-winning recording artist and 2014 ESPY’s host Drake, the two delivered a skit titled “Drake vs. Blake” which was centered around the two pitching movie titles for a fictional film. As the two failed to agree to a title for the film, each argued their name should be at the beginning of the title.
After failing two agree, Blake and Drake came up with various ways to torture the other which included the two acting as the other, hoping to terrorize their image to the public.
Even recording artist Chris Brown made an appearance, seamlessly squashing his beef with Drake–which originated over singer Rihanna–on the spot.
Griffin’s on the court antics are enough to make millions despise him, but there’s no doubting his ability to impress off the floor. Since making his first television appearance, Griffin has attacked comedy in an unorthodox way, allowing his “dry” personality to be the center of attention. We’ve seen Griffin’s comedic impressions in several commercials, whether via State Farm, Jordan, or KIA, but tonight’s skit allowed us to see that on a larger scale.
