Report: Clippers add Mike Woodson to coaching staff

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, former NBA head coach Mike Woodson is set to join the Los Angeles Clippers coaching staff.

With Alvin Gentry in Golden State, Tyronn Lue in Cleveland, and Kevin Eastman upgraded to the Clippers front office, Doc Rivers had room to fill on his bench.

In nine season as a NBA coach, Mike Woodson has a coaching record of 315-365. After spending two and a half seasons with the New York Knicks, a new regime lead by 11-time NBA champion pushed Mike Woodson out the door. Prior to New York, Woodson spent six seasons as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks, coaching the organization to three playoff appearances in his tenure.

Ken Berger also reports the Clippers are taking a look at Brooklyn Nets assistant Lawrence Frank whom coached under Rivers as an assistant with the Boston Celtics in 2010-11, Washington Wizards assistant Sam Cassell whom won a championship with Doc Rivers in 2008.

Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reports the Clippers are also taking a look at former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Larry Drew.
