As one of four shooting guards currently signed to the Clippers, Green was set to make almost $1.5 million next season. Waiving Green and resigning him at the veteran’s minimum as a free agent will allow the Clippers to save on half of Green’s salary. He’ll net close to $900,000.
Shuffled in and out of the starting lineup a few times last season, Green posted five points and 1.4 rebounds in 15 minutes of action. Green appeared in 55 games for Los Angeles. After spending his last two seasons in a Clippers uniform, his release doesn’t come as a shock.
