Donald Sterling is up to his tricks again.
Yesterday, TMZ Sports reported on Donald Sterling, the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, being his old racist self, this time with audio to kill any lack of belief that Sterling is a blatant racist. It’s different reading the comments, reports and remarks from former players, but now there is actual audio of his statements, ones that include him bashing his current girlfriend for being seen with blacks on Instagram and inviting Magic Johnson to the game.

Without taking long to respond, the NBA has sent out a statement via league spokesman Marcus Bass on the incident.
“We are in the process of conducting a full investigation into the audio recording obtained by TMZ. The remarks heard on the recording are disturbing and offensive, but at this time we have no further information.”
It’s unclear exactly what the league can do to Sterling at the moment, at least because there’s little precedent to the situation. Can they take ownership from him? Many doubt it, but fines could be in place and his remarks could have their own affects on the Clippers organization, having key free agents opt to go elsewhere instead of working under a racist owner.
While Adam Silver has been working to get other issues settled, drug testing, the age limit, etc. this will be the first huge test of his career. However he handles this situation, it’ll create a stigma that’ll follow him for the rest of his tenure as NBA commissioner, rather it’s positive or negative.
