In a sit-down interview with USA Today’s “Talking Tech”, DeAndre Jordan reminded us that, despite being a multi-millionaire who plays in the NBA, he is just like the rest of us as he revealed his love for video games.
“I have my computer set up to where I have a Nintendo, Super Nintendo, and a Sega Genesis on my computer. So I have like a remote control that hooks up to a USB and I’ll sit there playing Mario or Sonic or all the old school games that I got on my computer.”
Like Jordan, these are the games that majority of us grew up with as the video game industry began to blossom in the 1990s. At age 25, Jordan would be introduced to an era that would become a large staple of life years later.
When it comes to gaming on the go as the Clippers do lots of traveling throughout the season, Jordan is prepared with devices for every need.
“My bag is full of my iPod, my iPad, Galaxy Note. You know I have my Playstation Vita. You know, it’s like a portable Playstation. I’ll bring that sometimes. Anything that can keep my occupied on a four-hour flight is gonna be in my bag.”
Based on the interview, Jordan’s gaming streak doesn’t look like it’s going to die out soon, stating that due to circumstances he can’t handle, traffic, delayed flights, etc., he’ll always keep his games on him.
Maybe when we run into DeAndre, we’ll challenge to a versus game of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 to see where his skills are at.
