Don’t be surprised if you catch J.J. Redick playing during the Clippers upcoming five-game homestand.
Clippers guard JJ Redick (back) is planning to return during one of next three home games, possibly as soon as Thurs, sources tell ESPN

During the five-game homestand, the Clippers faces Dallas, Los Angeles (Lakers), Oklahoma City, and Sacramento. Considering Shelburne reports he’ll make an appearance in one of the first three mentioned games, I’d guess Dallas or Los Angeles.
I predicted (not real science behind my thought), that Redick would return during the road trip, but being a few games off doesn’t hurt anyone. His return fits what Rivers said about playing him some time ago: he’ll get Redick out there toward the end of the season to get him some reps before throwing him into the fire during the NBA playoffs.
It’s not secret that the Clippers are a better team when Redick is healthy and making his presence felt in the starting lineup. That’s a thought that has been repeated several times over different mediums and different sites. And looking at the way the team has played in 2014, for the first time in the franchise’s history it honestly feels like the Clippers are a true championship contender. Without Redick they dip back into the purgatory that consists of second tier teams such as Indiana and Houston.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of shape Redick is when he returns. Outside of shooting, Redick is known for staying in prime shape, even while injured. This could make his transition into the game much easier, though nothing can replace a real-game simulation, practice included.
Redick is averaging 15.7 points on 45% shooting.
