Jared Dudley Cracks Rotation for the First Time in 20 Days

Breaking news: For the first time in almost three weeks, Jared Dudley has entered the basketball game.

We wrote about Dudley’s slipping out of the rotation yesterday, so it’s good to see Doc allowing Jared to play himself out of the rotation. One game doesn’t change anything for Dudley, rather he plays well or continues his streak of uninspiring play, but just seeing Dudley in the game is a welcome sight as he is one of the players on this team that works the hardest to contribute to the club.

“Once I got hurt I thought I would come back and start playing,” said Dudley on his minute restrictions of late. “I just look at it as you have to be ready and be professional. You have to be a pro’s pro through the good times and the bad times.”

Prior to today’s game, Jared Dudley had played a total of 15 seconds, all which had come against the Golden State Warriors, while Danny Granger and Hedo Turkoglu nabbed the bulk of the minutes at small forward and power forward.

In yesterday’s piece we made the argument that Dudley is Hedo’s equal or lesser competition while he has a ways to go catching up to Granger’s play.

With four minutes left in the first half, Dudley has scored 5 points on 2-of-3 shooting (1-1 3PM) and grabbed one rebound in five minutes of play.
