J.J. Redick watch will continue for another week.
After tonight’s matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Los Angeles Clippers will embark on a five-game road trip that spans from March 26th until April 2nd. During that trip they’ll take on the likes of New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Minnesota, and Phoenix, all without shooting guard J.J. Redick.
Doc said he doesn’t think J.J. Redick will play on the upcoming 5-game road trip.

The team hasn’t struggled since Redick went down with a bulging disc in his lower back area, going 15-4 in that span, but Redick’s health matters to this team in regards to what they can do come playoff time. Jamal Crawford and Darren Collison have down well in terms of replacing Redick’s scoring production, but they lack his perimeter shooter, awareness on the offensive end of the floor and impact on the opposing defense. With Redick they’re a legit championship contender. Without him their season may come to an end during the second round of the playoffs.
With 12 games left in the season, Rivers could take a chance of inserting Redick into the rotation toward the latter end of those games to get his legs back under him. Depending on the matchup, Redick could be rarely used in the first round without affecting the teams chances of advances, but when it’s time to face a stout defensive team like the Spurs, Thunder or Grizzlies they’ll need him on the floor.
J.J. has averaged 15.7 points on 45% shooting on the season along with 2.2 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game.
