Metta World Peace Predicts Clippers-Knicks NBA Finals

Since being released by the New York Knicks, Metta World Peace has had a lot of time on his hands. And in that time he’s taken to Twitter to communicate with his fan base and the rest of the NBA world. And during last night’s matchup of Clippers-Pistons, MWP decided to make a knee-jerk NBA Finals prediction:

MWP’s commentary on basketball is weird, in a you want to hear what he’s saying though you’ll likely take anything he says serious. And this is one of those instances. The Clippers have looked like a NBA Finals contender as the season has progressed in the complete way that the Knicks haven’t looked like a contender. Actually, the Knicks would just be lucky to make it to the playoffs as they’ve struggled to be consistent in long stretches. Currently, New York is on an eight-game win streak and is 2.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth seed. Even if they sneak into the Eastern Conference playoffs, their chances or making it past the first round is extremely low as they’ll draw either the Indiana Pacers or the Miami Heat.

Odds are we won’t be seeing a Clippers-Knicks NBA Finals. Maybe the Clippers representing the Western Conference, but unless all of the superstars in the East go down with injury before May hits, the Knicks will be hedging their bets on next season — and likely the season after next — to represent their respective conference in the Finals.
