The Los Angeles Clippers received some positive news about the left calf of the leading candidate for the 6th Man of the Year award, Jamal Crawford. The MRI taken on Thursday morning showed the injury is a minor left calf strain, he may miss 2 or 3 games. Crawford was injured Wednesday at home versus the Houston Rockets.
The initial prognosis was up in the air because it was one of those non-contact injuries which are the scariest. The entire Clipper organization was concerned if Crawford would miss a lengthy period of time with guard J.J. Redick already out due to a constant bulging disc in his back.
Arash Markazi of ESPN LA spoke to the Clipper Head Coach Doc Rivers
“Personally, I’m a little concerned because no one was around him,” Rivers said. “When guys get injured when nobody’s around them, that always scares me. We’ll know more tomorrow. He said he felt better. I think he’ll be OK, but I’ve been around the league a while, so that’s my concern.”
Jamal Crawford is listed as day-to-day with a minor left calf strain but is still expected to miss 2-3 games.

The word minor is the key word that makes Clippers fans take a deep breath knowing their star won’t be out for too long.
I am huge Jamal Crawford fan…this injury hurts me on a personal level. My first piece ever written for FullyClips.com was at the beginning of last season about Crawford. Jamal read the article on my phone in front of me (long story), he loved the piece.
