If you thought the Clippers luck had turned with the All-Star game behind, think again. After suffering a calf injury late in the first half against the Houston Rockets, Jamal Crawford will miss the remainder of the game.
Unlike the rest of his comrades, Crawford was the only wing player on the Clippers roster to not be affected by the injury. With J.J. Redick out the Clippers can’t afford to lose Crawford. He’s been the team’s second leading scorer since Redick was pronounced out and without his 19 points per game, the team loses a lot on the offensive end.
It’s unclear if this will affect him going forward, but the urgency to sign another player (Danny Granger, Metta World Peace) increases ten-fold. Here is a note from Arash Markazi on Crawford’s status though little is known at this point:
The Clippers will conduct further tests tomorrow but needless to say the importance of signing Granger just increased.

Darren Collison will start for Crawford in the second half.
This thing isn’t looking too good, but we can hope that the MRI declares Crawford’s injury as nothing big.
Doc Rivers said he’s concerned about Jamal Crawford’s injury because it was non-contact.
