Davis has started to inform teams of decision to sign with Clippers, and Clips are proceeding with knowledge that he’s coming, sources said.

After agreeing to a buyout with the Orlando Magic, Davis will become an unrestricted free agent later today. With the Clippers playing their first game of a back-to-back, Davis won’t likely suit up until Wednesday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets.
This move takes the potential signing of Jason Collins off the table as the Clippers were interested in the free agent big-man post the trade deadline where they sent two of their three reserve big men to the Eastern Conference. It also makes one wonder if the team will continue to pursue free agent big man Ivan Johnson who spent the first half of the season playing overseas.
The signing of Davis will put the Clippers roster at 13 which is the league minimum for players. With more buyouts happening, expect the Clippers to be huge players in that market.
