Lost in the hype of the All-Star Break is Sasha Vujacic‘s contract situation. Vujacic’s ten-day contract, signed on February 3rd, expired yesterday making him a free-agent. According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com, the Clippers will make the decision on whether to re-sign him after the weekend.
Sasha Vujacic’s 10-day contract w/ Clips expired tonight. They’ll wait until after the break to decide whether to sign another 10-day

Considering the trade deadline is on February 20th, the team won’t likely re-sign Sasha Vujacic until after the deadline. With Sasha signed prior to the deadline, it gives the Clippers little roster room to work with as they are still looking for the third big man to bolster their roster for a late playoff run. Despite Blake Griffin’s play of late, the gaping hole that is the big men off the bench for Los Angeles, Antawn Jamison, Byron Mullens, Hedo Turkoglu and Ryan Hollins, still exists and will be the downfall of this team in the playoffs if not addressed immediately.
If/when the Clippers do sign Vujacic it will be for a second ten-day contract. After those ten days expire, the front office will have to choose between signing the scarcely used wing for the remainder of the season or allowing him to be a free agent per the NBA CBA.
Vujacic has played in two games as a Clipper, scoring five points and grabbing three rebounds.
