Report: The Clippers are Shopping Jared Dudley Hard

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Los Angeles Clippers are pushing Jared Dudley hard in the trade market.

File this information under the “not-so-shocking” section.

There hasn’t been a point in the season where Jared Dudley hasn’t struggled. On the season Jared Dudley is averaging 7.9 points on 44/36/66 shooting splits, 2.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.6 steals per game. All of those numbers are down from last season without a decline in minutes per game and usage percentage. It got to a point where Doc Rivers decided to go with Matt Barnes in the starting lineup instead of Dudley. Shooting isn’t the issue either. Known as a 3-and-D type guy around the league, Jared’s defense has been detrimental to the teams overall defense. With the unpredictability of DeAndre Jordan in the center, allowing players to easily blow past you hurts the team more than it helps.

In regards to Dudley’s trade value, nothing indicates that it’s too high. Looking at the Clippers weaknesses, the front office is likely pushing Jared for the oh-so needed third big man, but with the price tag of $4.25 million combined with his lack of production, teams probably aren’t going out of their way to obtain Dudley’s services.

Dudley was acquired this past summer in the three-team trade that sent Eric Bledsoe and Caron Butler to the Phoenix Suns and J.J. Redick to the Clippers.
