Recap: Clippers Click In 102-96 Win Over Suns

Well, it is the preseason. But the Los Angeles Clippers have started off better than most of the Pacific division teams and now have an even record with the Phoenix Suns at 3-1. Tonight, the Clippers handed Phoenix a 102-96 loss. Every starter scored in double digits, and the Clippers really looked like they had team chemistry. The regular season hasn’t even started yet!

They started the game with a hot first quarter where they were able to tally 33 points. The Suns defense didn’t improve much heading into the second quarter, once again being torched them for 3o points, taking a half-time lead of 63-47. DeAndre Jordan’s free throw shooting was looking good in the first half and it seems like he wants to be the third member of the Big 3 that almost every Clipper fan wants him to be.

DAJ finished with monster numbers of 11 points, 11 rebounds, and a whopping 5 blocks. He was really active inside the paint tonight for the Clippers.

The second half of the game is where Phoenix really started to get to work. The Suns may not have won but they outscored the Clippers by 6 in the third quarter, holding them to just 13 points. Defense really improved for Phoenix. In the fourth quarter, they outscored the Clippers 30-26, but it wasn’t enough to get the job done.

Goran Dragic had a solid night with 20 points, 8/12 from the field and 4/4 on 3-point shots. Unfortunately for him, the Clipper starters and bench players both played well enough to ensure their team a victory.

Chris Paul finished with 24 points and 9 assists and Byron Mullens with 15 points, Jared Dudley scored 12 points in his return to Phoenix where he played his last four years. and Willie Green tallied 15 points. Off the bench Darren Collison scored 8 points and Jamal Crawford scored 13.
