Blake Griffin Injures Left Knee in Scrimmage

Looks like the injury bug has jumped on another player. This time it’s Blake Griffin, injuring his knee after dunking in the team scrimmage yesterday. Here’s what happened according to the Los Angeles Times’ Brad Turner:

Rivers noted it was nothing bad which means the sitting of Griffin is precautionary. The left knee is the same knee Griffin had surgery on during the summer of 2012. That surgery kept him Blake from participating in the 2012 Olympics.

With the season beginning in a few weeks, it’ll be interesting if Griffin (along with Matt Barnes, Reggie Bullock and J.J. Redick) appear on the rest of the preseason games. The season begins on October 29th when they face off against the Los Angeles Lakers, so resting up their key players may be best for the club as other players compete for playing time and roster spots.
