The back-and-forth between Bill Simmons, Grantland Editor and life-long Boston Celtics fan, and Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, who was the Celtics head coach prior to this season has dated back to 2006. Well, at least that’s when Simmons began publicly calling out Rivers on his ability as a head coach.
The most recent reaction from Simmons came this summer when Doc Rivers wanted out of the rebuild the Boston Celtics were heading for, sending out tweets such as these:
I don’t blame Doc for trying to bail, but he can’t come back now. He just tried to quit on his players. Now he’s going to coach them?

That rumored Celtics-Nets trade is so bad for Boston that Doc Rivers just quit on the Celtics again.

The feud got a bit more personal at the 2013 NBA Draft when Rivers was asked about Simmons’ comments stating “I would like to call him an idiot, but I’m too classy for that.”
Well according to Doc Rivers, that spat is no more. In an interview with Seth Davis of the Seth Davis show, Rivers and Simmons have cleared up their so-called “beef”.
