While 2K sports is preparing for the release of NBA 2K14 on the current generation consoles (Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC), the company has released a game-trailer for their next-gen consoles (Playstation 4, Xbox One):
Paired with KRS-One’s “Step Into A World”, 2K has upped their graphics to match the next-gen consoles. Shown are Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Chandler Parsons, Andre Iguodala, James Harden and Anthony Davis doing what they do best in the NBA.
Seeing these graphics does nothing but reaffirm how I feel about NBA 2K14: What they’re doing for the current generation consoles is improving the game while not drastically changing the way it looks. Why? Because they no fans are sticklers for detail and will upgrade to get the look of the next-gen consoles. It’s all a marketing ploy and one that I don’t mind.
But the trailer looks good. If that’s what the graphics are looking like now I can’t imagine how things will be when the year 2020 hits.
NBA 2K14 releases October 1st for the PS4 and 360 while the next-gen consoles release later in November.
