According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul is leaning toward playing for the US in the  2016 Olympics that will take place in Brazil.

Paul was all but out of the running to return to the team when Mike Krzyzewski wasn’t going to return to the USA team as the head coach. Obviously we all know by now that the Duke head coach will return to the USA Team for 2016 Olympics.“If it had been another coach than Coach K, I was prepared to be done,” Chris Paul told ESPN.com.

In no way has Chris Paul committed yet as Kevin Durant and Kevin Love did earlier this week but the sense in Vegas is that he is leaning toward a return.

Chis Paul’s Stats in 2012 on the USA Team

  • MPG: 25.8 (2nd highest)
  • PPG: 8.3
  • ASSISTS: 41 (2nd to LeBron James)
  • STEALS: 20 (Team Leader)

Paul has been a part of two USA gold medal runs through the Olympics in 2008 and 2012
