Las Vegas — The Los Angeles Clippers openend up the NBA Summer League with a victory on Friday afternoon against the Atlanta Hawks 90-83. However the Clippers weren’t as lucky Sunday afternoon in the desert on the campus of UNLV, they lost to the NBDL Select team 81-77 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score advertises. Both games were extremely different to say the least.

Clipper Nation was in a full effect & Thomas & Mack Center, 50 or so members of the tribe were sitting behind the Clipper bench.

Reggie Bullock shot 4-12 and had three turnovers but connected on all 7 of his free throw attempts. He will soon want to forget about his dismal shooting performace behind the arc where he went 3-10. Bullock showed a lack of dribbling abilities and defensive skills in his second NBA appearance. Bullock, rookie out of North Carolina is shas been thought of as a “defensive specialist”, but  it hasn’t shown yet but when new head coach Doc Rivers gets in the gym he will whip in to shape. It will be difficult for Bullock to break into to rotation this coming season with all the depth at the wing position.

Sarmado Samuels wasn’t nearly as efficient in his 2nd ball game in a Clipper uniform but still looked good. DaJaun Summers shot the ball well yet again but like Bullock showed some defensive deficiencies.

Interesting fact about todays ball game. Tyronn Lue is listed as the head coach of the Summer League team, but it sure looked like new Associate Head Coach Alvin Gentry was in control.

Funny Fact of the Day:

When forward Vernon Macklin was checking in the 2nd quarter he was complaining to the scorers table that he had 6 points, not 4 points which was slated on the scoreboard. He was correct. It’s Summer League folks. There is a “I” in team here in Vegas.

Starting guard Maalik Wayns didn’t look good for a 2nd straight game, Jerom Randle logged more minutes than Wayns at the point guard position.
