At this point I’ll be happier when this deal is actually done. But Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports says things are back on between the two clubs:
The Celtics and Clippers have started talks again on the Doc Rivers-Kevin Garnett deal, league sources tell Y! Sports.

While the Los Angeles Clippers have Brian Shaw in town for a second interview, Woj tweets that the Clippers are the ones who reached out to the Boston Celtics to resume the talks. Basically the Celtics didn’t buy their bluff.
Something has to give at this point. Either the Clippers are going to give in and hand the Celtics two first-round picks or the Celtics are going to lower their demand. I figure taking Courtney Lee or Jason Terry is going to happen regardless. It’s possible the Clippers could flip Caron Butler for one of the players.
For now we sit back and watch the rumors set in because this may take a while.
Here’s an interesting take on the “revival” of the trade talks from ESPN’s Bill Simmons:
FYI: Chris Paul got involved in this Clips-Celts debacle, that’s why they are talking again. Clips cannot risk CP being unhappy on July 1st.
— Bill Simmons (@BillSimmons) June 19, 2013
Bill Simmons was right. Someone get this man an award of some sort. According to Woj, Chris Paul is the main reason why these talks have sparked up again:
Clippers management believed Boston would eventually come back to them out of a belief that the Celtics-Rivers relationship would be difficult to repair, but league sources told Y! Sports that Paul’s desire to play for Rivers – and with Garnett – has been a significant motivator for Los Angeles.
