According to multiple sources around the NBA the Los Angeles Clippers and the Boston Celtics not only engaged in talks once again today…word is Chris Paul is pushing for the deal to be made. It is now said the deal will be done if and when Clipper owner Donald T. Sterling approves it.

Clipper management and Sterling met with Brian Shaw for dinner tonight, his 2nd interview. It has also been reported that management and Sterling met together after dinner.

“Doc is taking the job to coach Chris Paul,” a league source told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday. “This isn’t happening if Chris planned to leave.”

According to RealGM: “Paul communicated to the Clippers that hiring Rivers and trading for Garnett was essential to him re-signing in July. Paul’s pushing for the deal forced the Clippers to reengage with the Celtics on Wednesday.”

Details of the possible trade have no been reported as of yet.

Projected Trade:

Celtics Receive:

DeAndre Jordan

(2) 1st Round Draft Picks

Clipper Receive:

Kevin Garnett

Doc Rivers

There is a possibility of many other scenarios but until more comes out all we can do is wonder. The Clippers negotiated a five-year, $35 million deal with Rivers that could be worth as much as $8 million a year with bonus incentives, sources said. Rivers has arrangements to bring some Celtics support staff – including assistants coaches Tyronn Lue and Kevin Eastman, and possibly others – with him to Los Angeles, sources said.
