NBA Trade Rumor: Is Danny Granger On the Clippers Radar?

Alongside Arron Afflalo, the Los Angeles Clippers have shown an interest in Indiana Pacers small forward Danny Granger according to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports:

The Clippers’ lack of willingness to give up third-year point guard Eric Bledsoe could be a dealbreaker. They fear that they would be compromising their future by giving him up and are currently contemplating using him in a sign-and-trade that could involve forward Blake Griffin and land Lakers and free-agent-to-be Dwight Howard. Other players who are the Clippers’ radar as possible upgrades by way of a trade involving Bledsoe include Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo and Indiana small forward Danny Granger.

Danny Granger would fit the Los Angeles Clippers perfectly. He has the ability so spread the floor and has been a decent scorer since entering the league averaging 21.6 points per game since becoming the full time starter in 2007. The obvious problem is the knee injury that kept Granger out for most of the 2012-13 and the entire playoffs. It should also be noted that going into the 2013-14 NBA season, Granger’s five-year extension signed in 2008 will finally be expiring. That’s $14 million off the books giving the Clips a chance to sign a big name free agent the following summer.
