Current Boston Celtics head Doc Rivers has to told Los Angeles Clippers management to hold on to Eric Bledsoe as he would like to coach him next season in a Clipper uniform according to sources. The blockbuster trade has hit a impasse due to Danny Ainge wanting to much for a one-year supply of Kevin Garnett. If the Clippers include Bledsoe the deal is likely done.
Here’s the report from Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski:
Boston general manager Danny Ainge has requested Bledsoe and a second first-round pick, but all involved believe that Bledsoe’s inclusion into the package would get a deal done. Rivers has delivered word to Clippers management that they shouldn’t include Bledsoe into a package for him because he wants to coach him in Los Angeles, sources said.
Bledsoe had been in Celtics-Clippers discussions until Saturday morning, league sources tell Y! Boston won’t do deal without him.
Bledsoe will be a restricted free agent in 2014 and it will be difficult to pay him a market value with Chris Paul on the roster.
