Turner: Clips to Offer Shaw or Hollins Job Next Week

Remember all those Doc Rivers-to-Los Angeles rumors that were flying around just a few hours ago? Well Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times just dispelled those quickly:

Reports came out that the Clippers were “blown away” with Lionel Hollins after his two-day interview. As for Brian Shaw, he’s been in the coaching search from the beginning.

This is either one of two things: Donald Sterling is throwing out a bluff to get Danny Ainge of the Boston Celtics to play his hand or the Celtics-Clippers trade have broken down severely.

While DeAndre Jordan is the key piece in the rumored Boston-Los Angeles trade, LA’s attempt to hold on to Eric Bledsoe for a future trade may be what’s holding everything back.

At this point no one really knows what’s going to happen in the coming days. Doc Rivers may be an important piece in getting Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles. Paul Pierce may be willing to come regardless.
