The awards are divided into categories recognizing social activity via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, among other platforms.
The Clippers were handed the NBA TV’s Fan Nation Award for its increase in social media with fans.
If tweeting a NBA Player with the hopes of a return Tweet the Clippers are the best at doing that even though I’ve tried to get a response from Jamal Crawford all season long with no success. I was lucky enough to meet him in person and have him read the article I wrote about him back in November which was very gratifying so the miss tweet was okay.
Chris Paul has 2.1 million followers under the Twitter handle @CP3, and forward Blake Griffin, who has 1.6 million followers under the handle @blakegriffin32, were lauded for their efforts sharing video highlights, photos and other content across social platforms.
Jamal Crawford has 317,000 followers under the handle @JCrossover, was widely known for engaging fans and retweeting messages during the season until the playoffs, when he underwent a self-imposed Twitter ban.
