Brian Shaw is holding out for the Clippers

Many notable franchises are looking to fill their vacant head coaching positions. Assistant coaches around the league are looking to use this opportunity for advancement. Mike Malone, who was an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors recently accepted the job offer as head coach for the Sacramento Kings.

Currently, there are four teams this season with a winning record who are still looking to hire new coaches. They are the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Brooklyn Nets are pursuing Pacers’ assistant coach Brian Shaw, but sources say that he’s holding out for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Shaw turned down the Charlotte Bobcats last year, so we know he’s waiting for the right opportunity. He would make a great candidate for the Clippers; and mainly because he’s won 5 championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. He won his first three championships as an NBA player and his last two as an assistant coach. He’s also had plenty of success as an assistant coach working with head coaches Phil Jackson and Frank Vogel.

Experts all around the league expect Brian Shaw to land a head coaching gig next season. If the Clippers miss out on George Karl, I believe Brian Shaw is suitable for the Clippers.
