Looks like the Los Angeles Clippers are about to begin interviewing candidates to fill the head coaching vacancy starting with Golden State Warriors assistant coach Mike Malone according to Sam Amick, NBA Insider at USA Today:

As it has been mentioned before, with Malone being familiar with Chris Paul he checks off the “satisfy the superstar” option on the “find a head coach” checklist.

Many consider Malone to be the “x’s and o’s” to Mark Jackson’s hands-on coaching out in Golden State. And based on what we’ve seen the past few years when Vinny Del Negro was at the helm for the Clips, that’s what this teams need. Finding ways to get Blake Griffin the ball effectively, keeping DeAndre Jordan involved in the offense and not just settling for “let’s see what Chris Paul can come up with” are keys.

Word is that the Clippers are compiling a list of candidates to ship off to Donald Sterling for him to make a selection, but it’s good to see the head coaching search has begun.
