We’ll be hearing this name in trade rumors all summer long. Chad Ford of ESPN reports the Orlando Magic are interested in Los Angeles Clippers backup point guard Eric Bledsoe as they prepare for the NBA Draft:
Despite their need at point guard, sources say the Magic aren’t sold on Trey Burke as the second-best player in the draft.
Would the Clippers bite? Afflalo would give them an established veteran and a big upgrade at shooting guard to pair in the backcourt with Chris Paul.

Considering the void the Clippers have at the two guard position, this could give the team a jolt heading into next season. While the salaries don’t match up swapping Bledsoe for Afflalo straight up, but adding Caron Butler and his $8 million expiring in 2014 makes things even.
After being sent to the Orlando Magic in the Dwight Howard trade, Arron Afflalo averaged 16.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists while boasting a PER of 13.0, which is slightly below the league average of 15. Known as a three-point shooter, he shot the lowest percentage since his rookie with 30 percent (career average – 38 percent). He’d provide the Clippers a solid perimeter defender and someone who can spread the floor for Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.
No personnel move will likely be made until a head coach is hired, but this is an interesting rumor to keep tabs of. The Magic are looking for a point guard of the future and the Clippers need another piece to the puzzle and with the draft coming up that may be the night things happen.
