Los Angeles Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies (-3.5)
Clippers lead series 2-0 (Best of Seven)
Start time: 6:30pm
Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Venue: FedEx Forum
TV Info: TNT & Fox Sports West Prime Ticket with Ralph Lawler & Michael Smith
Fan Viewing Party: Commerce Casino (Los Angeles CA) 6pm
The Los Angeles Clippers will invade Fex-Ex Forum in 4 hours looking to go up 3-0 in a best of seven series with the Memphis Grizzlies. Memphis has a incredible home record of (32-9) but one of those losses came against the visitors in the building tonight just 12 days ago 91-87. The Fed-Ex Forum will be dressed for the occasion with yellow towels in each seat in the expected sell-out crowd.
Leading the Clippers in scoring thus far in the Playoffs is arguably the best Point Guard in the NBA Chris Paul with a 23.5ppg clip. Blake Griffin is doing his part but critics aren’t too happy with his measly 15.5ppg & 6.5rpg in the series but is still the 2nd leading scorer on the ball club. The 3rd leading scorer comes from the snubbed 6th Man of The Year Jamal Crawford with 14ppg. Has DeAndre Jordan played this series? The answer is yes…he has a average of 3.5pts a game. If he doesn’t step up and Zach Randolph or Marc Gasol goes off it’s over for the Clippers tonight
Game 2 Highlights
Memphis had a tough time rebounding the basketball and defending the 3-point shot of the Clippers hot shooters thus far in the series. Mike Conley was able to put his stamp on the series when Vinny Del Negro decided to go with Chauncey Billups rather than Conley arch nemesis Eric Bledsoe, if the same mistake occurs the Clippers could see a big (L) tonight. Mike Conley ended up scoring 28 which should cause concern in the Clippers locker room. Del Negro’s decisions will play a huge factor in what happens tonight on the floor and as always he will be criticized if it doesn’t work or looked as a godsend if it works.
“Mike Conley is very, very underrated,” Billups said. “He’s very crafty. He has every shot in the book, pretty much. He can shoot the three. He can shoot the pull-up. He’s got the floaters. He’s very, very quick. He’s smart on the pick-and-rolls. And he’s a good defender. He doesn’t get a lot of credit for that.” Via Broderick Turner – Los Angeles Times
Defense…Defense…Defense…will be the biggest thing for both teams tonight. Can the Clippers contain Gasol & Randolph again, my opinion is NO. Can the Memphis Grizzlies contain Crawford & Paul…my answer is NO. It’s a toss up ladies and gentleman.
Prediction: The Grizzlies are going to come out ready to fire on all cylinders including there big 3, Conley/Randolph/Gasol. I think you will also see a energized Tayshaun Prince. The Grizzlies are just too much for the Clippers in Game 3. (Hope I am wrong) Go Clippers Go!
Grizzlies 96- Clippers 91
Clipper will win series 4-1
