Looking every bit a team suffering from road weary legs, the Clippers dropped a second straight contest, this time 86-76 to the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Arena.
Both teams were tied at 63 going into the 4th quarter, the Nets outscoring the Clippers 12-2 over the final five minutes to secure the victory.
Brook Lopez led all scorers with 26 points, with Joe Johnson adding 19 for the Nets. Chris Paul had 14 points and 9 assists, but committed some key mistakes down the stretch (including two of the Clippers’ 20 turnovers in the last 3 minutes) to enable the Nets to seal the win. Blake Griffin also scored 14, but none down the stretch when it mattered most.
The Clippers now travel to Atlanta on Saturday to try to salvage a split on their four game trip.
