The Los Angeles Clippers’ roster now stands at 16 as guard Hank Thorns and forward Trent Plaisted have been waived.

Thorns was praised by Jamal Crawford on Twitter but wasn’t praised highly enough by Clippers’ coach Vinny Del Negro or the other powers to be as he was cut as well.

The 5-foot, 9-inch point guard played in five of the Clippers’ seven preseason games, averaging 1.2 points in 3.4 minutes per game. The undrafted rookie didn’t have much of a chance to play since Chris Paul and Eric Bledsoe will own the playing time, but just to make the roster would have been a step in the right direction for the TCU graduate.

Plaisted, the 46th selection in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Seattle Super Sonics, had little impact in his three preseaon games. He averaged less than one point in five minutes per contest as he couldn’t find a rhythm to make the team.

The Brigham Young University graduate will probably return to Europe where he has played since he left BYU. Plaisted has played summer league ball for NBA teams such as the Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers, but is yet to play an official NBA minute.
