As Chris Paul said, there are no moral victories around here, “at the end of the day it’s 1-1″. Strong words from someone who delivered a 29 point, 6 assist, and 5 steals. Chris Paul led the Clippers to a hot start, which slowly dwindled into a 4 point halftime deficit. The Clippers hung around, but in the end of the day The Grizzlies 20+ point contributions from OJ Mayo and Rudy Gay were just too much. It’s beginning to become apparent, The Clippers are going to have to step up in every aspect to counter the loss of Caron Butler. Two of the most crucial parts of the game last night were second chance points and bench production. The Clippers lost in both of those categories, categories which I felt were going to be crucial elements to this series. But, all is not lost. It is a 1-1 series. Clippers will now come back home for back to back games and the playoff atmosphere in the Staples Center should be amazing. For the first time since 2006, playoff basketball is back at Staples with a Clippers logo in center court.
