Los Angeles Clippers: Preparing For Three Road Games In Three Nights

Finally! After an array of back to back losses, the Los Angeles Clippers found themselves on the opposite side winning back to back games versus the Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons. Both games were very closely contested as the Clips had to come from behind in each of the games. They were to Houston by as many as 14 points, but the Clips were aided by a huge third quarter and in the fourth quarter it was guard Chris Paul once again. CP3 scored 12 points in the final three minutes to propel the Clippers to a 95-91 victory. It was the same story versus the Pistons the following game as the Clippers were down again in the quarter. The battled back and were able to force overtime. In the extra period CP3 would score 9 of his 18 leading the Clippers to a 87-83 victory. Newly acquired guard Nick Young made his Clippers debut scoring 9 points. It feels great seeing the Clips win two in a row. The question now is can they sustain the momentum when they face the Indiana Pacers?

I am happy with the victories but a little concern in the matter the Clippers did it in. In both games the Clippers had to make up large deficits in order to win the game. They were never in control and against a young fiery team like the Pacers; the Clips are going to have to start the game strong. I believe if the Pacers get a large lead on the Clippers, it will be very difficult to overcome. The Clips need to come out of the gates with high energy and purpose.

Not only would a win over the Pacers extend the Clippers winning streak to three, but it will also be a great start to their three game road trip in three nights (wow, lot of three’s). The schedule is brutal but I am confident the Clippers will at least win two of three. Expect CP3 to have a mega night in New Orleans, which is the final game in their three game road trip. I am predicting a triple double for that game for CP3.

The Clippers have some tough game ahead of them. Hopefully Nick Young gets situated with the team quicker than expected because we are going to need him to contribute big in these next three games. LET’S GO CLIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
