Bobby Simmons can enjoy being a Clipper for the next week and a half at least. He probably shouldn’t be looking for real estate in California quite yet, but he is probably happier to have a 10-day contract, than no contract at all.

Simmons signed his previous deal on February 27th after lighting it up in the D-League with the Reno Bighorns. He played exceptionally well there, averaging 13.5 points and 7.6 rebounds until he got called up.

In his 6 games thus far for the Clippers, Simmons has averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting over 44% from the 3-point arc.

The DePaul University alum had his best year in the NBA with the Clippers in 2004 when he won the NBA’s most improved player award.

Simmons had a good performance during his initial 10 day contract and earned another one. Adding some depth to the Clippers is essential because the season is shortened which means more games in less stays. The playoffs are right around the corner and the Clippers are in a position to do well. Staying healthy and building depth are essential ingredients for the Clippers success.
