I’m sure you all noticed the lack of posts here but I’m back! The last several weeks was filled with papers, finals, and college work junk that I have not had the time to watch Clipper games and even if I could catch a game, I’d be too entrenched in school work to even make a meaningful post. But I finished my last finals yesterday and after a night of celebration, I am here to continue on my duty here.
The Clippers are on a four game losing streak and destined for another year of cellar dwelling. But the nice thing to know is that we’re not alone in the bottom. The Kings, Wizards, Cavs, T-Wolves, and Nets all have a win record somewhere from 7 to 5. So this means that they will join us this season most likely in the lottery again.
But because the Clippers played more games than other teams so far, our record is 5-21 which gives us a .192% winning record. That is the worse in the league and also grounds to start making some changes. But seeing how the majority of Clippers Nation wants to see a Oklahoma City Thunder approach to winning games, everyone is satisfied standing pat and just hoping the team magically gets better out of no where.
I actually don’t believe that route will work. The Thunder got better because Kevin Durant is just that good of a player. Anyone who can score 30 points a game with a good supporting cast can lead a team to greatness. The fact that Scotty Brooks is actually a good coach too does not hurt matters. Sorry to say but Vinny Del Negro is not a good coach and has not shown any reasons why he should be praised for any coaching abilities. But I do not think Vinny is going to get moved any time soon. I just hope the assistant coaches can at least help with getting the offense to move.
After coaching, there’s Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon. These are the two best players on the team and Eric Gordon has gotten the role of being the Clippers closer. This is surprising since Eric Gordon has actually not closed a game for the Clippers yet. But out of everyone on the roster, he actually scores in the fourth quarter. He needs to seriously work on his handles though. I’m so tired of seeing him lose the ball while dribbling. Those turnovers have proven to be quite costly and actually lost games for us before.
Blake Griffin right now is the most exciting player on the team and maybe in the whole league. But he needs to work on his free throws. He gets to the line all the time and only makes like half of his free shots. There was an article that says during practice he makes all of his shots and has not been able to translate it to real game situations. Well that should be something the coaches help him figure out which they haven’t.
I do not even want to get started on the other players on the team. So much negativity surrounding the team, it scares me to know that a lot of these players are going to be here for another season.
But at least we have Blake Griffin and Eric Gordon.
