Friday 10-30-10 - Clippers 91 Vs. Warriors 109

I did not get to watch this game because it was Halloween weekend and I was doing what college students do on a Halloween weekend.  But I did catch some highlights and Eric Gordon breaking Stephen Curry’s ankles was pretty sick.  It’s bad that Curry is hurt since I think he is a good player but still, he got crossovered!

But back to the Clippers, they start out the season with two losses.  Box score and other recaps and comments from the blogs says the game was loss in the third quarter where the Warriors outscored the Clippers 32 to 13 points.  The first quarter started with the Warriors going at a 13-3 run while the 3rd quarter started with the Warriors going at a 18-2 run.  So unlike the first game, it was not decided by a horrendous scoring drought midway through a quarter, the Clippers just have trouble starting a half.  Vinny Del Negro needs to give a better halftime speech if he wants the team to get pumped up to start a game.

Blake Griffin had 14 points and 10 rebounds and is a highlight machine.  Sometimes I feel like I should just fill this blog up with Blake Griffin highlights but then that would be too much overcrowding.  Eric Bledsoe and Al-Farouq Aminu needs more playing time though.  I don’t understand why VDN isn’t playing them more when in the Bulls, he always played the youngsters.  I especially want Aminu getting more playing time because Ryan Gomes is starting to look really bad.  If he does not score, I expect him to at least fill up his stat line with other goals.  But 3 rebounds and an assist?  That is pitiful.  If not the stat line, at least guard your man but Dorell Wright had 24 points and led the game in scoring.  Who is Dorell Wright?!  The small forward position is all backwards right now because the player that should be playing the most isn’t while the player who does not need to be on the court is getting the most minutes.

Next game is tomorrow against the Dallas Mavericks.  Hopefully we can nab our first win before I start rioting.
