After learning that they’d be without the services of PG Sebastian Telfair for 4-6 weeks due to a groin strain, the Clippers announced that they’ve signed G JamesOn Curry to a 10-day contract and have waived F Kareem Rush.
Curry comes up from the D-League’s Springfield Armor, where he averaged 16.1 points, 7.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game in 19 games played this season. Formerly a second round pick by the Chicago Bulls in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Oklahoma State, Curry spent that year in the D-League as part of the Iowa Energy, where he averaged 20.3 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds while appearing in 13 games. He spent last year splitting time between the Energy and various European leagues.
Rush averaged just over 1 point per game while appearing in just seven games this season.
Curry will be counted on to provide back-court depth that was sorely lacking in the team’s loss to Denver Thursday night.
