Fantastical Choices, Part 3: The Sequel to The Sequel

AUTHOR: | IN: Baron Davis, Eric Gordon | COMMENTS: None Yet

Check out Part I and Part II if you missed ‘em.  We now continue with our analysis of a fantasy bball draft chosen completely randomly from all the fantasy drafts in which I participated.  …Okay, fine, it was the only one I did.  Again, a (K) after a player’s name means they were a keeper & probably won’t be discussed. Round 4 1. Monta Ellis Brad 2. Al Horford Ginny 3. Marcus Camby Michael C. 4. David Lee Mike M. 5. Baron Davis Nick 6. Antawn Jamison Frankie 7. Elton Brand Mike K. 8. Mo Williams Rich 9. Fantastical Choices, Part II

AUTHOR: | IN: Clippers | COMMENTS: None Yet

For those who missed it, the First Part of this look at my fantasy bball draft was all about the insane amount of thought I put into deciding between LeBron & CP3.  Now we get to the actual draft, round by round.  As I mentioned before, even though the season has started, my thoughts will be based solely on the info that was known at the time of the draft (which was the night before the season started).  Oh, yeah, players with a (K) next to their name are Keepers.  For the most part I won’t be discussing them because [...]

Fantastical Choices, Part I: Pre-Draft

AUTHOR: | IN: Blake Griffin, Cavaliers, Heat, Hornets | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

My fantasy bball league recently had their draft, and I’m gonna go thru it, round by round, analyzing everyone’s choices. For those who play fantasy & want specifics: we have a 12-team head-to-head league with 9 stats. The 9th stat is FTM (Free Throws Made), not turnovers, but the other 8 are the standard ones (pts, rebs, assists, ft%, fg%, stls, blks & 3pters Made). Note that any criticism (or praise) is based solely on the knowledge that was available at the time. For instance, we only learned after the draft that Blake Griffin would be out for the first [...]

Monkey Departs From Back: Clippers Get 1st Win, or, How To Win Like Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant.

It wasn’t pretty — okay, it was ugly — but the Clips finally got their first win.  After possibly making history by losing 4 games in October (since the season starts the end of October, I dunno if any team has ever even played 4 games in the month before), they broke on through to the other side.  This has been a tough stretch to start the season.  First, learning the day before the season starts that Blake Griffin is seriously injured, and then having to play 5 games in 7 days is insane.  Particularly considering the first four teams [...]

Clips Tighten Up In 4th Quarter Vs. Mavs

AUTHOR: | IN: Clippers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Kevin Arnovitz does a great job showing how the Clippers stagnate and start to force shots when the game gets close & things start to matter on Saturday. Of particular fault: Marcus “I’m Paid To Play Defense, But I Have No Problem Jacking It Up From Outside Despite A Shooting Form That’d Make Larry Bird Roll Over In His Grave If He Was Dead” Camby.
