Funny LA Times article not about Blake Griffin learning his role on the court, but rather off it. He’s had to learn which seats he can use, which yoga mats, and yup, which showers. Ahhh, rookie hazin’.
ClipperBlog talks about the Hopes & Fears For Chris Kaman.
ClipsNation has a nice post A Good Problem To Have – Who Starts? This is gonna be a 2-parter, and in this first one they look at the SF battle between Rasual Butler & Al Thornton. As we’ve said here, they think Rasual will/should start with Al Thornton coming off the bench as instant offense. The second part will be the PF debate between Camby & Griffin.
Bill Simmons gives a fun preview of the upcoming NBA season where there are several references to our beloved Clips. His list of the 33 most intriguing people to follow this year includes:
22. Baron Davis
Easiest prediction of the year: a big comeback season for Davis. He’s in awesome shape. Awesome. Looks like a skinny, motivated, chiseled Kimbo Slice. I barely recognized him. He looks fantastic. Pencil it in: comeback. I will even type it for you. C-O-M-E-B-A-C-K.
Elsewhere around the league…
While Simmons writes some nice things about the Clips, Rip City Project ain’t too happy with what he has to say about the Blazers.
Pippen Ain’t Easy has photos of a surprise hotty who came to deliver Derek Rose an award.
Royal Pain gives a nice tribute to former King Bobby Jackson who’s retiring.
Howard The Dunk analyzes what can be gleaned from the Magic’s recent pre-season game.
If this is gettin’ a bit too real for all of y’all, let’s cross over into the world of entertainment…
Pacman Jonesin’ lists the Top 25 TV Characters In History. Or at least the top 25 in the last like 30 years. Despite some good choices, you could probably come up with a Top 100 that should’ve been on the list. It skews heavily towards recent history (&cable) with multiple people from Mad Men, Curb Your Enthusiasm, plus appearances by Weeds, The Wire, Sopranos, & Entourage.
Gunaxin Sports lists The 7 Rules Every Sports Movie Lives By in case you’re interested in writing one.
FanSided’s Suicide Drills lists The 10 Best Phenoms in Sports Cinema. I think Hoosiers might be the only sports film that gets referenced in both this & Gunaxin’s list.
