Yahoo Sports has a nice article on how Summertime Is No Vacation For Players Taking On New Roles:
It has been an offseason of big-name transactions, so some key players have landed in new spots. Of course, every time a player goes to a new team, he leaves an old team behind-and that puts pressure on the guy who is called on to fill a new role.
It’s always inspiring to hear about the off-season work some players put in (because the pessimist in us tends to assume these multi-millionaires slack off as much as possible in the off-season, all but a select few doing Tim Thomas-impressions). The article talks about three players: Derrick Rose trying to expand his game with Ben Gordon gone from Da Bulls; Robin Lopez on the Phoenix Suns with Shaq in Cleveland; and Lou Williams in Philly looking to take over from longtime vet PG Andre Miller who left for Portland.
