Clips are making the playoffs this season. I feel it.

I think they’ve got a good shot, toasterhands. Phoenix is gutting their own team. Don Nelson got rid of Jamal Crawford for scraps cuz he didn’t like the smell of him or something. Plus they might trade their whole team to get Amare. So I think no other non-playoff team in the West from last year will be competition for a spot (although I do think both the Grizz and the former Sonics’ll be a bunch better). That means only one of the playoff teams has to drop out, and there are 3 possibilities: the Mavs (they’re getting older & might not even be able to resign JKidd), Utah (they may lose Booze), or New Orleans (who from their aborted attempt to trade Tyson Chandler shows that their main goal is to shed salary not win).

I think their numero uno priority should be to trade Randolph. Plus that bench has got to improve and the current cast of bench guys probably aren’t going to cut it, although I like mike taylor.

If they can get someone semi-decent for Zach, I agree. But I don’t think they should just give him away for useless Marko Jaric-type players. ‘Cuz sure the bench is weak in terms of swing players, but if you start say Griffin & Kaman, then coming off the bench you can have ZBo, Camby, Mike Taylor, Steve Novak and the remains of Ricky Davis. That’s not a bad bench. Camby can play help D to make up for ZBo’s bad defense, ZBo can post up & shoot as much as he wants, Novak can keep the D honest, Taylor can do a 1-man press and harass the other team’s backup PG to take a ton of time off the shot clock. After all Orlando made it to the finals, and before Jameer came back their bench was Anthony Johnson, JJ Reddick, Pietrus, Battie, and Gortat. Only Pietrus and Gortat were above average players.
